Attention all prospective Development Team Head Coaches

Applications are now open for those interested in coaching one of Yellowknife Minor Hockey’s Development Teams for the 2025/2026 season!

3. Input your NCCP number to automatically populate completed certifications

Required to complete your application:

• Online RAMP application
• Resume outlining your coaching philosophy, season plan, team goals, experience, and strategy
• Any relevant supporting documents
• Criminal Record Check (CRC - Vulnerable Sector)
• Request a CRC letter from info@ykminorhockey.ca
• You may also upload your CRC during online registration

• U13 Open Development Team 
• U15 Open Development Team 
• U18 Open Development Team 
• U13 Female Development Team (NEW)
• U15 Female Development Team

Deadline to apply: June 27, 2025

Expectations of the Role:

Head Coaches are expected to commit to a schedule that includes up to 5 ice times per week, including one early morning ice-time (typically 6:30 AM). Development Teams are competitive and expected to travel, and coaches are expected to arrange and attend at least 2-3 out-of-town tournaments during the season.

Coaching Incentives:

We value your time and commitment! Head coaches receive:

• Up to $200 reimbursement for coaching supplies
• 50% off one player registration

Our Development Team Coach Selection Policy ensures a fair and thorough process, including interviews and evaluation of your submitted application materials. Selection is based on a combination of experience, philosophy, preparedness, and fit for the team.
