Registration for the 2025/2026 YKMHA Season is now OPEN!

Registration for the 2025/2026 YKMHA Season is now OPEN!

We are excited to announce that registration for the 2025-2026 Yellowknife Minor Hockey season is now open!

This season YKMHA has is the removed the fee for late registration, but we have now implemented a registration cut-off date.

Registration will remain open until August 1st , 2025.

After this date, players will be placed on a waitlist with no guarantee of team placement. Removal from a waitlist will be subject to space availability and at the approval of the league. In addition, registration for Development Team Try-outs will not be accepted after August 1st, 2025 so please register early to secure your spot. This process will allow YKMHA to better plan for the 2025-2026 season.

This season, we’ve also aligned our registration process more closely with our updated Registration Policy to support the financial health of the Association and ensure all players are fully registered before participating in any on-ice activities. Under the new structure, payment plans will be processed throughout the summer with the final payment in September. Based on feedback from the membership, the initial payment of the payment plan has been lowered, and the remaining payments increased. Registrations with outstanding balances at the beginning of the on-ice season will not be permitted to participate until arrangements have been made with the league.

New Program Options

We are proud to expand our offerings this season with several exciting new female-focused development opportunities:

  • U9 All-Female Team (within the Co-ed Division)
  • U11 All-Female Team (within the Co-ed Division)
  • U13 Female Development Team
    • Development Team Tryout Fee Applies
  • U15 Female Development Team
    • Development Team Tryout Fee Applies
  • U18 Female Travel Team (2 designated practice ice times; players who want to play in co-ed house and the travel must register in both house league and for the Travel team)

These initiatives support increased access and development for female athletes across all age groups.

Fee Structure Updates

Please note the following changes to the 2025-2026 fee structure:

  • Hockey Canada Insurance Fee: Now itemized separately on your invoice; increased from $50 to $65 per player.
  • Development Team Tryout Fee: A non-refundable $100 fee per team (e.g., trying out for two teams = $200).
  • Female Midnight & DTE Jr./Sr. Programs: Fees have increased from $270 to $300.
  • Credit Card Processing Fees: Applied automatically if paying online. Avoid this fee by e-transferring the full registration amount to Janet Murray at adminassist@ykminorhockey.ca. Please note: E-transfers must be made within 24 hours of finishing your registration. Registrations without payment in this timeframe will not be confirmed.

We’re looking forward to an incredible season ahead filled with growth, fun, and great hockey.
