Team Managers and Head Coaches

We have heard that there are several house teams that intend to travel to out-of-town tournaments this year, and that is great news! However, it is important to note that coordination of all travel must fall within the Team Travel policy.

Specifically for house teams:

League teams are permitted to travel up to two (2) times per season, excluding Hay River, provided that all application procedures are addressed in a timely manner and there are no substantive impacts on other Association programs.

This includes ensuring travel permits are submitted, and all requests are completed in accordance to the policy. In addition, governors must be notified of the travel and the Director, League Programs to evaluate impact on house league games and allocation of missed ice times should the team receive approval.

This means it is very important to share your travel plans with YKMHA well in advance of any planned travel.

Please ensure that if your team is planning tournament travel this season that you have reviewed the policy to ensure you are operating within league guidelines.
